Does SharePlay work without FaceTime?
At first, we looked to connect those far away through meaningful and fun experiences in your apps. This is why, when we first created SharePlay, we focused the experience of SharePlay in FaceTime calls. From there, we expanded SharePlay so that it could be used with or without a call with SharePlay via Messages.
How does SharePlay work for FaceTime?
Start a call in the FaceTime app on your iPhone. Alternatively, you can go to the Home Screen, then open a video streaming app that supports SharePlay. Select a show or movie you want to watch, tap the Play button, then select Play for Everyone (if it appears) to begin watching with everyone on the call.
Does SharePlay happen automatically?
The first time you use SharePlay, you'll see a notification asking if you want to SharePlay the content. Select “SharePlay.” The next time you use SharePlay, this notification will not appear, and will automatically default to the “SharePlay” selection. Your SharePlay session will start.
