Is it bad to rev while clutch is in?
Often drivers will rev hard whilst riding the clutch to avoid rolling back whilst doing a hill start, but this technique can seriously damage your clutch.
Does high revs burn clutch?
If the clutch is slipping and you apply a lot of revs there will be friction and the clutch will heat and probably will get damaged.
Does holding the clutch in burn it?
Yes it does, and it's a very bad driving technique to use for more than a very short period of time, let's say two or three seconds. If need to remain stationary on a hill for longer than that then you should use the handbrake, select neutral and take your foot off the clutch.
Is it bad to accelerate with clutch down?
It won't damage the engine, but it will burn out the clutch faster. In order to start from a stop you have to press on the accelerator while depressing the clutch. Just don't “ride the clutch” which means once you are going, don't continue to depress the clutch in any way until you are ready to switch gears.
