How do you write a failure resume?
One of my favorite techniques in the book is the idea of a failure resume. This is an idea from Tina Seelig at Stanford, where what you do is you list your mistakes, your setbacks, your screw ups, in the way that you would on a resume, but then in the next column, you list what you learned from it.
What does a weak resume look like?
A weak resume is an application document that doesn't display your educational and professional history in a clear, accurate and easy-to-read way. Recruiters and hiring managers notice unprofessional resumes and associate them with a lack of attention to detail.
Do you have a failure resume?
Whereas your normal résumé organizes your successes, accomplishments and your overall progress, your failure résumé tracks the times you didn't quite hit the mark, along with what lessons you learned. (And yes, my disastrous presentation has a spot on mine.)
Does a 2 page resume look bad?
While the ideal resume length is one page, you may choose to have a two-page resume if the document contains relevant information that can help you improve your employability. If your resume is two pages long, print each page on its own piece of paper. This can improve the readability of your document.
