Can you catch a Legendary Pokémon twice?
One more note—once you've caught a Legendary Pokémon, you can't catch another one of the same species, even if you encounter it a second time in the Max Lair. Dynamax Adventures in the Max Lair are fun and rewarding with a whole slew of Legendary Pokémon ready for your challenge.
What happens when you release a Legendary Pokémon?
If the player attempts to release a Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, or Shiny Pokémon, a warning will appear, stating: You'll be releasing a very rare specimen. Are you sure you wish to proceed? Until the story is finished, the player can't release Dialga or Palkia due to them being mandatory for the final battle.

If you already caught a legendary and you enter a den of a legendary you already caught, you won't be able to catch it again, but you can host it for others who haven't caught it yet.
