Should alt text be unique?
As such, alternative text should never repeat or should never be identical between two images on a post or page unless you are repeating the same image in multiple spots on a page. If you have identical alt text on two different images, people who cannot see the images will think that they are the same.
What should not be included in alt text?

Add alt text all non-decorative images. Keep it short and descriptive, like a tweet. Don't include “image of” or “photo of”. It's not necessary to add text in the Title field.
Is alt text the same as caption?
Alternative text's purpose, as we have learned, is to describe what is visually present in an image. Image captions are not intended to be used in this manner. Also, alternative text only appears visually on a page when an image fails to display, whereas image captions are typically always visible.
Can you have duplicate alt text?
An Alt Text should not be duplicated on a page unless the images are identical or the intent of the image is the same.
