How do I know if my suspension springs are bad?
Your suspension will “bottom out” when you run over a pothole or speed bump. Also, the ride height will be lower than normal. Bad springs would/could mean that one corner of the vehicle, or one end (front/rear) will be sagging or sitting lower than the rest of the vehicle.
How long do suspension springs last?
Springs usually last for the life of the car, and beyond. It mostly is the shock absorbers that wear out and need to be replaced. Mind you, if one corner of the car is lower than normal you have a broken spring and will need to replace it and the other on the same axle.
Do springs in suspension wear out?
Over time, the repeated compression and expansion cycles during operation can cause the spring to lose its elasticity. When this happens, the spring may no longer be able to support as much weight as it once could, leading to sagging or bottoming out.
