Is there a real Nevermore Academy?
Nevermore Academy is also a real place – not something built on a studio backlot in Hollywood. Instead, Burton shot Wednesday in Romania, the location of the real castle that is used to depict the school that “nurtures outcasts, freaks and monsters.” Cantacuzino Castle is in Bușteni, Romania, near the Bucegi Mountains.

What kind of school does Wednesday go to?
In the show, which stars Jenna Ortega as 16-year-old Wednesday Addams, the castle stands in for Nevermore Academy. A kind of emo Hogwarts, it's here that Wednesday is enrolled by her parents, Morticia and Gomez Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán), in order to learn to control her psychic powers.
Why is it called Nevermore Academy?
Academy's name seems to be a clear reference to and nod to Edgar Allan Poe's narrative poem "The Raven", in which the bird, the Raven, shrieks only one word: "Nevermore!".
